Treatment of Chronic Wounds
Hard to heal or chronic wounds, located on the feet and thighs, typically appear among older and elderly patients and are the result of several causes:
- Vascular diseases
- Diabetes
- Venous insufficiency
- Various skin diseases
Venous insufficiency causes varicose veins in the lower part of the leg, and is expressed in swelling, edema, changes in skin color, inflammation of the veins and in severe cases also chronic, hard to heal wounds.
At On Clinic, we save legs from amputation
For several years we at On Clinics have been specializing in providing solutions for chronic, hard to heal wounds, with quite a few cases in which legs were saved from amputation.
On Clinic surgeons use innovative ambulatory technologies that enable healing of chronic, hard to heal wounds without invasive surgical intervention. Treatment methods include use of special bandages manufactured by the German Hartmann company. In most cases, this "wet" bandaging technique enables wounds to heal without surgical intervention and results in improvement in the leg's condition.
This treatment is available as On Clinics in Rumania and Bulgaria.
